ELK GROVE (CBS13) – Police have arrested five people in connection to an Elk Grove house fire believed to have been started by a marijuana grow.

Fire crews responded to a house fire in the 6000 block of Laguna Villa Way Saturday, where a marijuana grow was discovered.

While detectives were investigating the home, the owner — identified as 43-year-old Felix Su — drove up to the residence and was arrested on charges of marijuana cultivation and possession of marijuana for sale, say police. His wife, 41-year-old Kim Ta, was also arrested.

The investigation led detectives to issue search warrants for two other Elk Grove residences in the 6800 block of Kilconnell Drive and in the 7500 block of Shelby Way. Detectives found active marijuana grows in both homes.

Between the three homes , detectives say they found over 550 marijuana plants, approximately six pounds of packaged marijuana, over $1,400 cash and a loaded sawed-off 12-gauge shotgun.

Detectives also arrested 54-year-old Duong Su, 24-year-old Raymond Su, and 47-year-old Mui Ly in connection to the grows.
